  • capture of existing roof areas to create quality museum space including an area to display “Calder’s Circus”, world renown wire and fabric sculpture by the artist Alexander Calder
  • new skylights with environmental art protection qualities
  • state-of-the-art vapor barrier system to maintain con- stant humidity within the gallery preventing damage to the existing structure
  • new customized penthouse mechanical system in- stalled, incorporating three existing systems with humid – ity and redundant controls
  • new elevator in the museum space
  • new interior staircase in the adjacent office facility
  • restoration of adjacent landmark brownstone façade
  • completed while the Museum remained fully operational
