Construction management services for a 10-story, mixed-use, ground-up development. The 150,000 SF structure consists of 65 rental residences, 6,500 SF of space dedicated for retail and 88,000 SF for medical use, as well as facilities for community use. The handsome zinc-clad building is a distinctive architectural complement to its neighboring properties on the 57WEST residential block, offering residents a selection of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and a variety of amenities, including a lounge, fitness center and rooftop terrace.
The Durst Organization has developed exacting sustainability performance and product requirements for the building’s construction. These include choice of materials and equipment that reduce the building’s energy and water consumption; strict attention to construction material recycling and reuse; and implementation of environmental quality protection control plans during construction for water, air, and material recycling and reuse. In fact, sustainable building products were chosen not only for their components, but also with the assurance that their manufacture did not harm the environment. CNY is working closely with trade contractors to assure that requirements are met.
The new building has a prefabricated boiler plant that was installed on its roof. Only a small number of prefabricated boiler plants have been installed in the New York metropolitan area.
