A new 150 key, full service Marriott International Hotel in the historic center of Ghent, Belgium’s fourth largest city and world renown “flower city”. City Center is a showcase of medieval Flemish wealth and commercial success with an architectural splendor reflecting centuries of culture. Also included is a 1,000 person banquet facility with full catering kitchen built on the ground level behind the medieval façade as well as two restaurants and a bar lounge on the ground and cellar level.
- Restored original building façades built in the 12th and 13th centuries to preserve important urban context in Ghent’s city center on the Korenlei Canal. New construction behind, and integrated with, the restored façade. Extensive preparatory site work including hand excavation,utility identification, and archeological inspections.
