Historic rehabilitation of the City of Yonkers Recreational Pier originally built in 1890.
Features
- extensive marine concrete work completed by trade workers operating a barge crane positioned directly adjacent to the pier
- repair of the concrete pile caps, pile bearings, and steel beam encasements at the perimeter and beneath< the pier
- removal and replacement of existing timber fendering and 7-pile dolphins
- a new concrete topping and steel bollards
- lead paint abatement
- new ornamental handrails and second floor deck were added while preserving the pier’s historic integrity
- installation of an elevator for handicapped access
- roof replacement
